One of our favorite things to do when we are on vacation is to try new food and drinks. We usually travel to the Caribbean islands to our favorite all-inclusive resort. It is the best time to try new things because if you don’t like it, you don’t have to worry about wasting money.
I love all the drinks you can get, especially ones featuring rum. That is why I am excited to bring you this recipe for a Caribbean tsunami cocktail. This one will give you a wave of flavor, but you don’t have to worry about it washing you out to sea!
So let’s get started with what you need to know to make this recipe.
I don’t know about you, but I love simple & easy recipes. With short prep time. And makes a fair amount. This is what you need to know about this recipe:
This recipe yields two(2) 8oz glasses and takes a mere 5 minutes to prepare. Perfect!
So here is what you need to put on your shopping list to prepare this drink.
- 2oz coconut rum
- 2oz blue Curacao
- 2oz peach schnapps
- 1 1/2oz vodka(I prefer the whipped cream variety from Pinnacle)
- 3 cups Ice
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 2 containers of pineapple juice frozen concentrate
- 1 cup of lemon-lime soda
And here are the best tools to make your drink.
- Drink blender
- Cocktail Glasses
- Fruit Umbrella Straws
- Gourmet Maraschino Cherries for garnish
If you are like me, you would rather be outside enjoying your drink, rather than spending time in the kitchen or bar area preparing your drink. That is why I LOVE this recipe. Less than 5 minutes, and you are outside on your deck, sipping your drink, and wishing your toes were in the sand.
- For the first step, you are going to add the frozen pineapple juice, blueberries, and ice to your blender.
- Next, you are going to add your Curacao, rum, peach schnapps, and vodka on top of the other ingredients.
- Now you are going to blend all the ingredients until they are a soft, frozen puree.
- Remove the lid, and add your lemon-lime soda.
- Pulse for 1 to 2 seconds to combine.
- Pour into your glass, and add a few cherries and a tropical umbrella as garnish.
- Serve and enjoy!
While you may not be able to be at the islands because it isn’t time for vacation, at least you can have those island tastes in your own backyard! Love this recipe? I am sharing a few more below that you are sure to love!
