Are you ready for a journey that is out of this world? Batuu is an
experience like no other. Whether you’re a Star Wars super fan or have
never even seen a movie you can’t help but be impressed in this
magnificent new land. Bonus…you can find it on both coasts – in
Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida and Disneyland in California! Be
sure to visit during the day as well as at night as it very different. Get
your planning head on as we share eight things not to miss in Star Wars:
Galaxy’s Edge.

I am so excited that Sandy is back sharing her knowledge of ALL things Disney! Please read more to see about her experience at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

#1 Rise Of The Resistance Attraction
This is Disney’s newest ride which opened in December 2019 in Florida & January 2020 in California. Hailed as one of the most immersive experiences ever. Get ready to battle the Resistance and see if you can win.
It has show elements in the three rooms prior to boarding, as well as an amazing ride. Getting to ride R.O.R. is not for the faint of heart.
It is done by special boarding groups that can only be obtained once your entire party is in the park. Each day there is a limited number of boarding groups and typically groups are gone within 15 MINUTES of Park opening! Think of a boarding group as an extra in park only Fastpass.
A note from Jennifer: This sounds like FastPass Hunger Games. I can’t wait to be part of it! Side note, during our 2016 Disney trip, I was only able to get one FastPass that we wanted. Next time, I will be sure to let my travel agent handle that at the crack of dawn, 60 days prior to arrival.
#2 Oga’s Cantina
This galactic bar serves up out of this world cocktails and light bites.
Enjoy the electronica music of DJ R-3X while you enjoy your snacks. Unlike
other bars at the parks, the Cantina requires advanced reservations.
Be sure to visit your My Disney Experience account starting at 180 days prior to arrival in Orlando or 60 days prior in California. Better yet, let your travel agent to make your reservation for you!

#3 Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
What could be cooler than piloting the Millennium Falcon? A friend
recently said to me “this is the best day ever next to the birth of my
children”. I told him I promise not to share with his wife that his wedding day ranked below getting to pilot the Millennium Falcon. Can you imagine a 50-year-old being this enthralled?
The pre-show for the Falcon is awesome and the number of photo opportunities is incredible. You will have the choice of being the pilot, the gunner or the engineer. For those prone to motion sickness the engineer position has the least amount of motion. Check out this video of our Millennium Falcon ride.
UPDATE: We are thrilled to announce that on January 23, 2020 Walt Disney World announced FastPass will be available for this attraction beginning with visits on February 19, 2020. (Booking begins immediately)
Another side note from Jennifer: this is probably one attraction that I may have to drag my husband away from!
#4 Droid Depot Experience

Do you love BB-8? Want to build his cousin and take him home as your own? Reservations are required for this unique experience, currently $99 a
droid, and can be made 180 days in advance. As the pieces come down the
conveyor belt you can pick any color combination you want for your droid.
Once all the pieces are in your bucket head over to the build station, grab
the drill and put him or her together. There’s even an option to buy a droid
carrier. Once you are home, there are so many interactive things to do
with it!

From Jennifer: BB-8 has always been my favorite from the new set of movies. I think you may have to drag ME away from the Droid Depot.
#5 Savis Workshop
Among all of the experiences in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, this one was mesmerizing. If you’re a Star Wars fan and you’re looking for the workshop, simply ask where you might go to find scrap metal.
They’ll send you to Savi’s. This is another reservation required experience and currently $199 per person. I found this to be simply over the top amazing! Upon entering the workshop your master will tell you the story of the power.

You’ll then have the opportunity to be moved to select the crystal, followed by unique pieces to build your saber. Check out this video, I was sure you were going to want to experience this for yourself.
Another side note from Jennifer: This is another station, I think, that I will have to drag my husband away from. After all, what man doesn’t want their own light saber?
Before you read any further, please take a moment and check out my other videos on YouTube! Everything you need to know about planning your perfect trip!
#6 Shop, Shop, SHOP!
If there’s one thing not lacking it’s in this galaxy shop opportunities. Here, instead of large gift shops you’ll find small stalls in the marketplace where you can buy everything from your own life-size R2-D2 for just $25,000, to full-size storm troopers for $1200, to the cutest stuffed animals you’ve ever seen. Don’t miss the opportunity to get your own interactive Porg.

Jennifer here again. Let me tell you, this is ONE thing I can totally get on board with when we visit! Just call me “Souvenir Girl”!
#7 The Drinks At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Whether it’s the specially shaped Coke bottles, or the blue and green milk, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge certainly has it’s own flavor.

We love that the blue and green milk also comes in an adult version, but beware, much like knowing your flavors in Club Cool to avoid Beverly, make your choice wisely.
#8 A Bit Of Character(Okay, More Than A Bit)
The real thing we love is the opportunity to get up close and personal
with our Star Wars friends. Whether it’s Chewy roaming the land, a visit
from Princess Leia or checking out the Storm Troopers guarding the area,
you’ll love it. There’s definitely something for everyone.

Which ever coast you visit, you’ll enjoy this galaxy far, far away!
Jennifer here: I SO can’t wait to experience this in person!!! Thanks again Sandy for sharing your awesome Disney knowledge and making this fan uber jelly that you were there!
