It is really hard to believe that Fall is upon us. It seems like the Summer has gone by SO fast. I remember the intense excitement waiting for our trip to Sandals Emerald Bay, and in a blink of an eye, it was over.
The getting dark earlier doesn’t really help much either. Just the other day, it felt like it was time for bed, but it wasn’t even 8pm yet! Not my idea of a nice evening after work, as I truly thrive on sunlight. At least we have another Sandals trip to look forward to next year, so that will help get me through the Winter months.
One of the things that will be nice this week is we are headed up to visit our oldest son at school. While I know that growing up and moving into a different stage of life is what kids are supposed to do, it is still hard on this Mom(and I think Dad too)to get used to.
We are headed up there to see a concert with some of our favorite bands. We love that we are able see such great music AND our son at the same time. Every time I see him, he seems to have matured so much more. Well, he is going to be 21 this year, so that makes perfect sense.
As for our youngest, he has started his freshman year at our local community college. He seems to be finding his way, and is excelling at his school. Our youngest is our “hands on” kid. He went to technical school for his high school education, and he did an AMAZING job. Between his grades, his activities, and his accomplishments, he is going to go on to bigger and better things.
As for me, I haven’t really had much time to read. I work in a bookstore, and reading is my life. And my favorite way to relax. Pretty soon the holiday season will be starting up, and the stress will be in full force again. Most people love Black Friday as the official start of the holiday, but I dread it. Having to deal with the holiday stress isn’t fun, especially when you want to be home with your family. But helping a customer find the perfect book for their loved one makes it all worthwhile.
I do have to say that there are some family members that are SO happy it is Fall. Our cats are happy because Fall means windows and doors are open, and the sights and scents of the yard can be enjoyed. I have to agree, there is nothing like warm Fall days, and crisp & cool nights. Perfect for cuddling!
I STILL can’t believe how little they were in this picture, barely 8 weeks! You can read all about Fred and George, and how they came to live with us!
So that is a little update for us so far this month. Maybe I will try to grab a book, sit outside, and enjoy a caramel apple cider float, the adult version!
Until next time!
