Hello Sunday!
Wait, it is Sunday, right? Anyone else in the state of “no idea what day it is”? It is really crazy to have to look at your phone to verify you have the right day of the week. Because just looking at the calendar can confuse you at this point. I think I may have to go back to the old days where you crossed the days off before heading to bed.

Oh my, I just realized my kitchen calendar is still on March. No wonder I have no idea what day of the week it is. Time has been blending so much lately.
We are still maintaining as much social distance as we can. Doing our best to only go to the store once a week to cut down on the chances of exposure. Our state Governor just issued a recommendation to wear masks when leaving the house. So I had to take some time to locate and order some.
In the meantime, I will need to use a scarf when we go to the store. Another reason to make lists and shop deliberately. Are you finding you are in the same situation as well?
In any case, if everyone works together, maybe we can all get through this.
On The Travel Front
Well, with much sadness, I rescheduled our May trip to Jamaica to later in the year. I am praying with every fiber in my body that we will be back to some state of normalcy that we can go.

While a vacation seems shallow right now, being able to go would be a step back into normal life. As it is, there is a good chance our beach trip to Wildwood will be out of the question as well. That is heartbreaking as well.

Will life every be normal again?
Around The House
I realize things will never be normal again. You read in history books about things that have happened in the past. And it is really…eerie…to know that you are now part of a history of the world that is very hard to comprehend.
Thinking of that and what is going puts me in a state of anxiety that doesn’t seem to want to go away. Even though my family is doing everything we can to do our part, the fear and anxiety is still at the forefront. And that makes me sad.
Speaking of family, can I just mention how proud I am of our two young men? Despite being adults 18+, they are being absolutely wonderful about respecting our wishes that they stay home. Of course, with our state-wide stay at home orders, they have no choice. But even before that, they have been cooperative and pleasant.
In The Kitchen
This week I plan on working on some beverage recipes for the blog. Thankfully, before this all went down, I was able to stock up on some adult spirits. Now I can have some fun coming up with some new concoctions.
I can’t wait to see how many combinations I can come up with! Anything in particular you are interested in? I definitely am going to redo my orange creamsicle drink from a few years ago.
The best part of this whole process? The taste testing of course! Make sure you join the email list to find out when I post the recipes!
I promise if you sign up, you won’t get any SPAM. I send out the occasional newsletter, and new post updates. It is a great way to keep in touch!
So that is our update for now. We are staying in, staying safe, and trying to stay safe. I wish the same for you and your family.
