The National Mustard Museum is one of the fun places we got to see when we were visiting friends in Wisconsin. When I first heard about it, I wasn’t too sure how it would be. After all, my son is a ketchup maniac! Our friends were excited about showing us around, so we took a chance and went along with it. The National Mustard Museum is a great place to take your family. There is a lot to see, and taste too. One of the first things that you notice when you walk into the National Mustard Museum is the rows and rows of mustard. I never knew there were so many varieties of mustard available. After all, my mustard knowledge is limited to Heinz.
More About The National Mustard Museum:
It features a snack bar that serves every possible item you can put mustard on. From hot dogs, to pretzels, to everything in between. It is a great way to start off your visit.
They have 2 full shelves of nothing but beer flavored mustard. The main thing that makes the National Mustard Museum unique is you can try any of the flavors before you buy. There is a complete tasting bar that has spoons, or, if you prefer, pretzel sticks. I bet you can figure out what my boys used. They also have cute souvenirs to satisfy any mustard-loving visitor.
If you like looking at souvenirs AND household trinkets, then you will absolutely love the Campus “U” bookstore here. There are utensils, serving dishes, cookbooks, kitchen towels, and many more mustard-themed items for you to keep or to give as gifts.
My youngest son had a t-shirt that said “I put Ketchup on my Ketchup”. This Mom had a hard time not buying this t-shirt for him:
All in all, we very much enjoyed our trip here. Having never been to Wisconsin, it was a great way to see the sights and spend time with our friends and their family. And I smile everytime I see this picture because my son was so young, and now he is finishing his second year of college.
So there is a little about a great “things to do” trip while you are visiting Wisconsin. Tasty, fun, and family-friendly, you will be glad that you did. A great addition to any family vacation.
