Is Club Mobay worth it? So many times I hear that question when people are considering booking when they are headed to Jamaica. And after experiencing it twice, I will never travel to Jamaica without it.
When we do travel to Jamaica, you will find us headed to Sandals Resorts. All I know is that I don’t want to spend the first day of my vacation standing in long lines waiting to get through customs.
So What Is Club Mobay?
This VIP club is a first class lounge with a Jamaican twist, offering exclusive services at arrival and departure. You can acquire these as needed; either just at arrival, just for departure, or for both directions in a bundle.
How Can I Purchase Club Mobay?
It is really simple to purchase Club Mobay: just log onto their website and choose your services. I personally can’t recommend the bundled services enough!
Pro tip: As soon as you book your flights, book Club Mobay! Spots are limited and they fill up really fast. You DON’T want to miss out!
Can Families Use Club Mobay?
Absolutely! In the departure lounge, there is a dedicated lounge just for the kids to play in! It makes going home just a little bit easier.
What Makes Club Mobay Worth It?
Club Mobay is like insurance for your trip: you may not need it, but if you do, you will be so happy you have it. When we went to Jamaica in 2017, these services allowed us to bypass a line so long, you couldn’t see where it ended.
The price is worth it alone just to get to your vacation destination sooner. And let me tell you, the rum punch there is worth the price as well.
A Smiling Face Awaits You!
There is nothing like coming off a plane after a flight and seeing someone holding a sign with your name and greeting you with a HUGE smile. You are immediately treated to how wonderful the Jamaican people are, and it immediately gets you in the island mood!
Your Customs Form Will Be Correct
I am going to be brutally honest with you. I am not a seasoned traveler. The last time I traveled internationally, all I need was my driver’s license. That was back in 1997. Obviously, times have changed, and things are different.
Your representative checks over your immigration form to make sure it is accurate. Recently, Jamaica has started doing an online form for customs and immigration. We have not tried it yet at the time of this post, but will be doing it on our upcoming trip.
You Get To Be In A Dedicated Line At Customs
Remember that REALLY long line you just passed with your Club Mobay representative? They are waiting to be processed through customs. Thanks to the services that you purchased, you are escorted to a much shorter line and once you are through immigration, you get shown to your luggage pickup and taken to customs.
We never bring anything into the country with us other than our personal hygiene items, so we get to bypass this line as well. Off to the fun!
You Decide What Lounge To Use
Now that you have gotten through the paperwork part of your arrival, now it’s time to enjoy the benefits even more. If you are going to Sandals Resorts, you have your choice of lounges to use.
We personally head right to the Club Mobay lounge to get some of that amazing rum punch and a few light snacks.
You can also use the Sandals lounge to wait for your resort transport.
If you are visiting anywhere else in Jamaica, your representative will escort you to where you need to be. It doesn’t get any easier than that! If you are using departure services as well, you will get your voucher for the departure lounge now.
A Special Security Line During Departure
Now that your wonderful vacation is over, who wants to deal with long security lines. Unless you have a carry-on only, you will be stuck in line waiting to drop your bags at your airline. And that line is long.
And we know how long security lines can be. This is where Club Mobay also swoops in and makes it a little easier. Guests have a special(and much shorter)security line to get through.
Makes leaving a little less painful. Just a bit.
Free Wi-Fi & Food In The Departure Lounge
Here is a look at the departure lounge for Club Mobay. As you can see, there is a full bar, snacks, TVs, free Wi-Fi, beautiful bathrooms, even spa services.
My favorite thing about the Club Mobay departure lounge? Two or three more glasses of rum punch. I am not a huge fan of flying, so this makes it just a little bit more enjoyable!
So to answer your question, yes, Club Mobay is worth it. We will never travel to Jamaica without it, just because of the ease of use, and the fact that it gets us in the island mood as soon as we step off the plane.
