Are you new to traveling? Afraid you may be spending more time worrying about things instead of enjoying your vacation? I totally understand that. Today I am sharing my favorite must-have items for the inexperienced traveler. I didn’t have any of these when I went on my first international trip. Glad that we have them now.
So in 2017, we headed back to Jamaica to have a second honeymoon and renew our wedding vows. The last time I was on a plane or even out of the country was for that trip. So much has changed with travel since then, that I consider myself completely inexperienced!
My husband travels a lot for work, so he is much more at ease with travel out-of-the-country. I tend to get overwhelmed thinking about it. So I took some time away and spent some time at Target(this post is not sponsored by Target in anyway, and I received no compensation for mentioning them in this post)in the travel aisle, and found must-have items every inexperienced traveler needs.
One of my biggest fears is having our identity stolen. My passport recently arrived, and I want to do whatever I can to keep it safe. Target has these wonderful RFID Travel Wallets for my husband’s credit cards. There is also a great one for your passports.
Portable Luggage Scale:
I also tend to be a habitual over packer, and with the airlines having rules about the amount of weight in your checked luggage, having a portable luggage scale is a MUST! I love how this is small enough to slip into my purse so that I can have it at all times. After all, no one wants to leave any souvenirs behind!
And along the same line, these packing cubes are great to keep my luggage organized. I can keep everything together and in one spot! I was absolutely amazed how using the packing cubes kept my clothing from getting as wrinkled as it usually does. I think these are my favorite items for any inexperienced traveler to invest in.
Bonus tip: get a few sets to be even more organized!
TSA Approved Luggage Locks:
And I am always concerned about items being stolen out of my suitcase, so these TSA Approved Travel Locks are perfect. We can also use them to lock up valuables in our hotel room, too. And the travel locks aren’t just for vacation, they have plenty of uses. I grabbed some for my college son to use on the backpack he uses to carry his laptop to class.
And last, but certainly not least, good quality travel bottles are a must. I hate lugging large bottles, and these are perfect. They meet the regulations for flying, as well. I tend to overpack when it comes to toiletries and these travel bottles keep me in check!
So there you have it! Everything you need to have to make your next trip the best it can be. New to travel? No worries! I loved sharing these must-have items every inexperienced traveler needs, and so much more.
