Happy New Year 2019!
Wow, did I really just post that? I can’t believe that another year is over. But I am excited to see what 2019 brings to Trekking and Tasting. This blog is only 2 months old(not even), and I have so many big plans for this year. Places to go, things to do, and lots of tasting!
Before I get into my 2019 travel list(and travel wish list), I wanted to share my favorites from this past year. As always, heading to Wildwood NJ will always have a special place in my heart.
Wildwood is definitely our happy place, and is the center of all our family travel plans. I love that our kids still love to travel with the “old folks”. It truly means the world to all of us that we have a place that we consider our second home, and that we can relax and unwind together.
My other favorite trip from 2018 was to Sandals South Coast and Sandals Montego Bay. Jamaica is such a warm & welcoming place to be. In 1997 we spent our honeymoon there, as well as in 2017 when we renewed our wedding vows. There is definitely no place like Jamaica!
So what’s on the travel itinerary for 2019? Well here are 2 definite trips.
June 2019: We will be heading to our favorite beach vacation at Wildwood NJ. It will be a little different this year, as our little house we stayed in has been torn down to make room for a hotel expansion. It is sad because we have close to 16 years of memories at this house.
But, we will still be staying at the hotel, just in separate rooms. The most important thing is that we are down there together, sharing our favorite memories.
July 2019: Okay, I am absolutely over the moon about this trip. We are headed to the Bahamas to stay at Sandals Emerald Bay!
We have never been to the Bahamas before, so we are really excited. I am just thrilled to be going back to a Sandals resort! For us, it will always be a place of love and relaxation!
Now for my travel bucket wish list destination: Beaches Resorts Turks & Caicos!
Every year, there is an amazing conference called Social Media on the Sand. A 5-day intensive conference that combines learning, sun, and fun! Again, this would be a first for us, and it would be an amazing opportunity! Keeping fingers(and toes)crossed that I will be selected!
So that is my list, so far, for 2019. I plan on adding more to it as opportunities arise. If you are interested in having me visit and review your travel destination, be sure to visit my Work With Me page! I look forward to hearing from you!
