This project was done in a partnership with Green Acres Outdoor Living. I received a discounted rate in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are 100% my own.

Why Use Green Acres Outdoor Living?
As it states in their description, this is a family owned and operated business. As a lifetime resident of the Lehigh Valley, it is always good to support your local business owners. But that isn’t the only reason. From the moment I first contacted them about working with them about replacing our shed, the amount of professionalism was evident.
I used the contact form on their website to get started. Michael from Green Acres Outdoor Living got back to me in a short amount of time, and we were able to schedule an appointment to hear about the process.
Below I am sharing a bit about this process, so you can get a glimpse of what a shed project entails. I love Spring home improvement projects because that means I can spend more time outdoors.
Pre-Planning Phase Of The Green Acres Outdoor Living Shed
I admit, I don’t have the slightest idea what I am doing when it comes to outdoor projects. So, I let my husband handle this part of shed project. Green Acres Outdoor living is less than 5 minutes from our home, so it was really easy to get there.
So once he got there, he was given a shed catalog that explained all the sizes, colors, and other details.
After that, it was just deciding what we wanted. Again, I trust my husband’s judgement and let him handle the details. The colors he picked out now match our house and the other neighbors’ sheds.
After that, it was a simple matter of signing on the line and paying our deposit. A site preparation and shed installation dates were set, and we were on our way!
Once we paid the deposit and the shed project officially started, someone came to our house to look at the area where the shed was going to go. They were able to map out ahead of time how they were going to be able to get the shed and equipment onsite.
They really planned the whole project so they knew exactly where they were going and what they had to do. Attention to details matters when it comes to an outdoor project.
Removal Of The Old Shed
Once the date of the site preparation arrived, they started off with the removal of the old shed. I have to share just how bad the condition was of the old shed.
I still can’t believe our old shed was still standing.
In any case, I was really surprised at how easily they got the old one out. In this picture, you can see how bad the roof was! Bye broken down shed!
I also want to add that the contractor who took the shed out and did our site preparation was extremely conscious about making sure the grass wasn’t torn up or any damage to our neighbor’s property. You don’t see that very often.
Site Preparation Done By Green Acres Outdoor Living
When our old shed was installed, it was leveled with concrete blocks.
How it was still standing after 22 years is still beyond my comprehension. So with the new shed, they did a proper shed base. First they dug out the area to level it. They then added a firm dirt base, and then a rock layer to level it even more. Now it was ready for the shed.
Installation Of The New Shed
On the day the shed was supposed to be delivered, it was raining. The ground was a sloppy mess. Instead of coming in and doing it anyway just to get it done, they asked if they could bring it on a day when the ground was drier so as to not tear up the grass.
Did I mention that they pay attention to the details? Yes I did, and this is just another example of it. So a few days later they were able to bring the shed because the weather cooperated.
Here is a picture of the shed installation in progress. It is still hard to believe they were able to roll it in on the small cart. Again, it was done with care and precision.
See how the shed is supported on the beams? This is to allow proper air flow under the shed to prevent water damage and possible warping. Definitely better than the concrete blocks supporting the old shed.
Our old shed was a larger size. However, my husband did not measure the space prior to going so he ordered a different size. I actually like it because now we only keep in it what we actually use. No more junk taking up usable space.
So here are some of the basics about the shed we purchased. It is just one small example of the types and sizes they have to offer.
- 6×6 Painted A-Frame
- 3′ Single Door and One 18″x27″ window with shutters
- Siding color: clay
- Trim color: turf green
- Shutter color: green trim
- Shutter style: trim
- Shingle color: earthtone cedar
- Door/ Window Location: Door on left, window on right on the same wall

One other feature of the shed that I like is the built in lock on the door. On our previous shed, we needed our own, and it was awkward to use. Plus, after all those years it was getting a bit rusty and hard to use.

Final Thoughts About Working On The Green Acres Outdoor Living Shed Project
The new shed project was definitely one of the smoothest and professional home improvement projects we have done. From start to finish, we got what we needed. A quality product that will(hopefully)last us another 22 years. And no more getting whacked in the head from pieces of the shed roof rotting off.
All in all, I would definitely use Green Acres Outdoor Living again for any other outdoor projects. They have some really cute outdoor sofas and a coffee table that I would LOVE to add to our deck someday. Make sure you check out their website for ALL the products they offer.
So if you live in the Lehigh Valley and the surrounding areas and you need some outdoor space upgrades, Green Acres Outdoor Living is a great place to start! From sheds to swings to patio furniture, they will have you covered! Two locations, one great philosophy. A perfect combination.
