I recently embarked on my first ever cruise! It was a new experience that I want to share with everyone. If you are planning on booking a cruise in the future, here is a look at a Carnival Paradise balcony room, just one of the stateroom options available.
Carnival Cruise Lines gifted me this cruise . All thoughts are 100% my own. #gifted #cruisingcarnival #PTHCarnival This post may contain affiliate links. Cruise travel is new to me. Generally, my travel experience has been limited to travel in our local area, and some Caribbean travel. Always by plane and car, my vacations have always consisted of being with my family. My first experience with Carnival Cruises was my first solo travel adventure.
Talk about a lot of firsts. So I thought I would share with you what my stateroom was like. I think it will help you when you are trying to decide on a room category.
Balcony Room Basics On The Carnival Paradise
So what do you need to know about this stateroom? Here are a few things it features:
- It can sleep up to four guests when booked as adjoining rooms
- A nice balcony
- Roomier space to enjoy
- Beautiful views
There are also aft-view extended balconies that have even more room. Definitely a nice splurge if you are spending more time on the ship resting and relaxing.
What Kind Of Outlets Are In The Carnival Paradise Balcony Room?
So one of the first things that many people are concerned about is what types of outlets are located in the rooms. When people from all countries travel, this is important.
You will see the usual standard US plugs. Since there were two digital influencers that were sharing a room, I opted to bring a standard cruise approved power block to give us a little more plug space. Make sure you are careful with the type of power strip you bring. I found that this cruise power strip was just what we needed.
I also like that there were 2 USB ports right next to my bed where I could recharge my phone each night(I used it as my alarm clock), and also a place for my tablet for reading. Again, with 2 of us in the room, it was a blessing!
They also provide a 220V plug as well.
Are There Closets In The Balcony Room?
Yes! There are 2 huge closets in the room. One had shelves in it, and the other had a rod and hangers for all our dresses. We also tossed our shoes in there as well.
Our life preservers were kept there as well.
What Kind Of Storage Is Available In The Carnival Paradise Balcony Room?
There are several closet and shelf areas for this type of room. I have to say that I am an over-packer, and I probably could have used a little more space. If it would have been my husband and I, he would have taken up most of the space. I was trying to make sure I was mindful of my roommates needs as well.
It could have still used a little more space for clothes(and shoes)but that is just me.
Is There A Place To Store My Valuables?
There is a decent sized safe in this room. We were able to store cameras, tablets, passports, and other valuables with plenty of room to spare. I am not sure if a full-size laptop would have fit because I opted to leave it at home.
In the future, I would like to purchase a lapbook to use on further blogging adventures.
How Are The Beds In This Stateroom?
Ok, I just want to preface this section by saying I am a travel bed snob. There hasn’t been too many places where I absolutely RAVE about the beds. The first has been Sandals Resorts, and now this room. They are amazing!
You have the option of having a king-sized bed, which is perfect for couples.
Since I was there as part of a blogging retreat, my roommate and I opted to have 2 twin beds. Loved that each bed had a light above the bed, and an end table next to each bed for more storage.
So What Is The Bathroom Like In This Room Category?
Having never been on a cruise before, I had nothing to compare it to. It had a shower, sink, mirror, and toiled. Really, the basics were provided for. One positive was there was lots of space to hang up wet towels and still have room for clean & dry ones.
What Are The Storage Options In The Bathroom?
If I have to say one thing, the bathroom storage is one of a cruise ship’s negative. I realize that space is tight, but there is very little space to store things. There is a small shelf inside the shower to put your bathing necessities on.
They do provide shampoo and body gel, which is why they figured they didn’t need much shelf space. I have sensitive skin and dry hair, so I always opt to bring my own. Thankfully I had travel sized bottles, because I was able to keep them in there.
It didn’t dawn on me until I got home that I wondered if my roommate needed the space and I was just hogging it all.
It was also difficult using the sink area. With the rolling of the ship and the open shelf on the mirror area, I was afraid to keep anything on there in case it rolled off and broke. I did the best that I could.
There was also no space to use your curling iron. I did mine at the desk area, and it really helped. They also kept the hair dryer there, and had a nice mirror and good lights for putting on makeup.
Tell Me More About The Balcony On The Carnival Paradise
This was my favorite part of the room. A simple space that makes a huge impact and makes your room feel larger. I loved that you can have light and air and not feel so crowded in.
2 chairs and a table are on your balcony deck. Really, you don’t need much else. Except, maybe, a glass of champagne.
The one thing that you could not beat with this room was the views. It was breathtaking to see the beauty of sunsets, and marvel at the massive expanse of the ocean. I found it was the perfect place to take everything in. To sit, to slow down, to think.
Prior to going on this trip, I had stuff going on. I was wound up tight. I was able to let those feelings go. To cry out the tears I had been keeping in for so long. To open up a bit and share. And to just take it all in!
Oh, did I mention that this perfect for bloggers that love taking selfies? There is something about a balcony on a cruise ship that makes anyone feel glamorous!
How Was The Cleanliness Of The Room?
Our room was ALWAYS immaculate. In the morning after we left the room, our steward came in and tidied up. Usually he left us an adorable towel friend.
Each night, after we came back from dinner, our beds were pulled down and ready to go for sleeping. He also generally left a paper that described the next days activities, and excursion information. I can say that I never felt like I didn’t know what was going on.
Would I Stay In A Carnival Paradise Balcony Room Again?
If I ever get the chance to go on a cruise again, this type of room is something that I would definitely book. It has everything you could possibly want, except maybe a tub. But trust me, there are staterooms available that you could book that. As for me, this room meets all my needs and it will for you too.
