Do you know what today is? Why it is a favorite of mine: National Rum Day. Rum has always been one of my favorite things to enjoy as an adult, whether it is just in plain Coke or a tasty tropical drink. So in honor of this holiday, I am sharing the best rum drinks to help make this holiday fun.

So what are some of my favorite drinks? I thought I would share first which is my favorite rum. Bear in mind, I have absolutely no working relationship with this rum brand, they are just my favorite because of my love for Jamaica.
I absolutely adore Appleton’s Rare Blend rum, especially when I mix it with just plain soda. It is smooth and doesn’t have an after taste to it.

In fact, I can’t wait until we head back to Sandals Montego Bay next year so I can stock up! I can also stock up on Sangster’s Rum Cream, as well for my Dirty Banana recipe. You can only get it in Jamaica, so it is something else to look forward to!
RUM FACT: In 1764, the British Crown placed a tax on sugar, molasses and rum on the American colonies. This tax was called The Sugar Act of 1764. It was instrumental in the unrest that finally became the American Revolution.
No one really knows who started #NationalRumDay, but I am sure glad that this person did! Often when you think of rum, you think of the beach and Jack Sparrow. Recently we took a trip to the Exuma Cays, and happened to visit that exact sandbar!

Did you know? Rum is the third most popular spirit in the United States? I can certainly understand why.
